Janice Langlois

Janice Langlois

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and cherished resident with the Association of Community Living on June 11th, 2025.

Janice is the cherished daughter of Patricia Langlois and big sister to Joanne Tignanelli. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law Franco, nephew Marcus (Autumn), and nieces Jenna (Yedish), Tessa (Kevin), and Christy. She is predeceased by her father Ronald Langlois and her sisters Catherine and Rhonda-Lynn Langlois. She was predeceased by her dog Lucy who made a tremendous impact in her life.

Janice faced many challenges with Smith-Magenis Syndrome, as well as cancer in the last two years. In spite of this, she was spunky, had an amazing sense of humour with quick one-liners, and had the memory that rivalled an elephant’s. She was particular with her possessions and her room; everyone knew not to touch her “stuff”. Janice would greet you with a big shout out of your name, often followed shortly with “What did you bring me?”. She would enquire about the lives of those who surrounded her and was genuinely interested in the latest updates and news of people she knew.

Janice has left behind a legacy that will always be cherished by her family, those who worked with her, and by anyone who ever met her. She taught us that we should never underestimate a person’s potential as they can and often will exceed our expectations. We should appreciate and embrace the differences in people, and revel in our similarities. Even when someone may have differences that make them ever so Special, the love you have for them, and from them, will go beyond anything that could be imagined.

We would like to thank all of the staff (aka angels) who have worked with Janice through the years; they treated Janice with the utmost respect, infinite patience and so much kindness and we will be forever grateful. Thank you to Dr. Jinnah and the Nipissing Serenity Hospice for all your support. And lastly thank you to our family and friends who lent us strength and showed us compassion through this difficult time.

Family receiving friends at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Rd, on Sunday June 15th from 6 until 8 pm. A celebration of her life will be held at 7:30pm

In lieu of donations please give in honour of her memory to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice.
