The death is announced of Jayne Francis Coons in her 89th year. Jayne was born in Timmins, Ontario and moved with her family to Sudbury and later Kingston where she graduated from Queen’s University.
Jayne then taught high school in Little Current, Hamilton Westdale and Terrace Bay, Ontario. After moving to Elliot Lake she was appointed the Executive Director of the Elliot Lake Centre for Continuing Education.
Jayne moved to Toronto where she attended the University of Toronto Law School graduating in 1975 and called to the Bar of Ontario in 1977. She spent eleven years in the service of the Ontario Government in five different legal ministries.
In 1990 Jayne moved to North Bay where she established a successful Family Law practice and a Mediation practice. She retired in 2006.
At Jayne’s request there will be no memorial service.
