Jeannette Bedard

C’est avec tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès de Jeannette Bedard, décédée à La Maison Sérénité du Nipissing le 15 décembre 2025 à l’âge de 82 ans. Elle était une fille aimante, une sœur dévouée et une femme admirée pour son autonomie inébranlable et sa force tranquille. Elle laisse dans le deuil, Rose Gardner, sa petite sœur bien aimée.

Jeannette chérissait son indépendance et valorisait son temps seul, trouvant la paix dans la simplicité et la réflexion. En même temps, elle était profondément dévouée à sa foi et à sa communauté d’église à St-Vincent de Paul, où sa présence étaient un réconfort constant pour beaucoup.

Ceux qui ont pris le temps de vraiment connaître Jeannette ont été récompensés par son sourire exceptionnel et sa douce chaleur. Elle a laissé une impression durable sur tous ceux qui ont croisé son chemin, souvent sans dire beaucoup de mots.

Jeannette était une source d’inspiration pour ses nombreuses nièces et ses neveux, qui admiraient sa résilience, sa détermination à vivre selon ses propres termes, et son talent remarquable pour créer de belles broderies—chaque pièce était une expression silencieuse de son soin et de sa patience.

La famille tient à exprimer sa sincère gratitude au personnel de La Maison Sérénité du Nipissing pour leur gentillesse, leur compassion et les doux soins palliatifs qu’ils ont prodigués à Jeannette ainsi qu’à ses proches, pendant sa fin de vie.

Une reconnaissance spéciale et très sincère est également accordée à Will Ball et à l’équipe ACTT2 (Assertive community treatment Team 2), qui ont été la ligne de soutien de vie de Jeannette pendant tant d’années; leur engagement dévoué et attentionné envers son bien-être a été profondément apprécié.

Tous ceux qui l’ont connue se souviendront d’elle avec amour, gratitude et respect.

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Jeannette Bedard, who passed away at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice on December 15, 2025 at the age of 82. She was a loving daughter, a devoted sister, and a woman admired for her unwavering self-sufficiency and quiet strength. She leaves behind her beloved little sister, Rose Gardner.

Jeannette cherished her independence and valued her time alone, finding peace in simplicity and reflection. At the same time, she was deeply dedicated to her faith and her church community at St-Vincent de Paul, where her presence was a steady comfort to many.

Those who took the time to truly know Jeannette were rewarded with her exceptional smile and gentle warmth. She left a lasting impression on everyone who crossed her path, often without saying many words.

Jeannette was a source of inspiration to her many nieces and nephews, who admired her resilience, her determination to live life on her own terms, and her remarkable talent for creating beautiful embroidery—each piece a quiet expression of her care and patience.

The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to the staff of the Nipissing Serenity Hospice for their kindness, compassion and soothing palliative care, which they provided to Jeannette and her loved ones during her end of life.

A very heartfelt and special recognition is also extended to Will Ball and the ACTT2 Team (Assertive community treatment Team 2), who were Jeannette’s life support line for so many years; their dedicated and caring commitment to her well-being was deeply appreciated.

She will be remembered with love, gratitude, and respect by all who knew her.

La famille recevra les condoléances, en présence des cendres, aux salon funéraire McGuinty Funeral Home, 591 Cassells St., North Bay, le dimanche 28 décembre de 18h00 à 21h00.

Les funérailles auront lieu, lundi le 29 décembre à 10h30 à 1’église Saint-Vincent-De-Paul, 1265 chemin Wyld, North Bay, ON P1B 2A9.  Suivant le désir de Matante Jeannette, un lunch pour la famille suivra dans le sous-sol de l’église.

L’inhumation des cendres se fera au cimetière St. Mary au printemps, son lieu de repos final aux côtés de sa mère, de son père et de son frère.

The family will receive condolences, in the presence of ashes, at McGuinty Funeral Home, 591 Cassells St., North Bay, on Sunday, December 28 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 29 at 10:30am at Saint-Vincent-De-Paul, 1265 chemin Wyld, North Bay, ON P1B 2A9.  Following the desire of Matante Jeannette, a lunch for the family will follow in the basement of the church.

The inhumation of the ashes will be done at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the spring, her final resting place alongside her mother, father and brother.
