Joanne Mayotte

Joanne Mayotte

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joanne Mayotte, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. Joanne was the heart of her family and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Joanne was the beloved wife of Claude Mayotte, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership. She was a proud and caring mother to her two sons, Marc Mayotte (Julie Rioux) and Pierre Mayotte (Tracy Ricker), who were her greatest accomplishments and joys.

Joanne found incredible happiness in her role as a grandmother to Rhys and Zoe. She loved her grandchildren deeply, and her time spent with them was filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. She will also be lovingly remembered by her step-grandchildren Brady and Callie.

Joanne was predeceased by her beloved parents, Rita and Lionel Lafrenière, and her brother, Denis Lafrenière, whom she held close in her heart. She is now reunited with them in eternal peace.

Known for her incredible cooking, Joanne expressed her love through food. Her amazing meals brought family and friends together, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, generosity, and togetherness.

Joanne was an elementary school teacher for many years, bringing her compassion and kindness into the classroom every day. She created a warm supportive environment, where students felt safe, encouraged and inspired to learn. Her gentle presence made a lasting impact on everyone she taught.

Joanne’s kindness, strength, and love will live on through her family and the many lives she touched. She will be remembered always and forever held in the hearts of those who loved her.

As per her wishes cremation has taken place. A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice will be gratefully acknowledged by her family. Online condolences can be made at www.hillsidefuneral.ca
