Journey begins for Kevin O’s One More Walk Home

Kevin Oschefski’s One More Walk Home in support of the CIBC Run for the Cure and all those battling breast cancer starts Wednesday at 6:30 am.
The Country 90.5 FM morning host is once again walking and running 129 km from the Northeast Cancer Centre in Sudbury to Downtown North Bay.
He says it’ll be tough just like last year, but the support along the way really helps out.
“When you see the people on the side of the road and people honking their horns, it just drives you to keep going,” says Oschefski.
Last year, he walked in honour of his wife, Josie, who is now medically cancer-free after battling breast cancer.
“There are a lot of people that are still going through what they were going through a year ago regarding their battle with breast cancer,” says Oschefski. “For a lot of people their journey has started since we took that trip a year ago. I thought for one more time, in honour, and to let those people know we’re still with them, that’s why we would do it one more time.”
Donations are being accepted online, with nearly $16,000 raised as of Tuesday night.
The walk takes place over the next four days, wrapping up Saturday at about noon at The Clubhouse Gateway Golf on Oak.
