Jubilee of Youth in Rome includes 24 area pilgrims

Two dozen area youth are in Rome for the Jubilee of Youth 2025.
Officials with the Catholic Churches of Holy Name of Jesus and St. Alphonsus Liguori say the parish youth have a busy day Tuesday.
They’re visiting St. Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museum and attending an opening Mass with Pope Leo XIV in St. Peter’s square.
Hundreds of thousands of young people from 146 countries are in Rome for the weeklong jubilee.
“It is expected that approximately a million pilgrims will attend the Prayer Vigil with Pope Leo XIV at Tor Vergata on Saturday, August 2,” states a release from the Vatican. “This number will increase for the Papal Mass on Sunday, August 3.”
Artistic, cultural, and spiritual events are taking place on Wednesday and Thursday.
