Kate Merritt Dupelle Recognized

Kate Merritt-Dupelle recognized in the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2025
Kate Merritt-Dupelle, CFRE from North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation (NBRHCF) has been included in the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) 40 Under 40 Class of 2025.
The AHP International 40 Under 40 Program recognizes 40 young professionals each year who are shaping the future of healthcare philanthropy.
With nearly 15 years of leadership experience in North Bay’s philanthropic sector, Kate joined the NBRHC Foundation team in 2023, bringing a depth of expertise that drives the strategic direction of several giving programs including, estate, individual, corporate and foundation giving. Her leadership has enhanced our ability to celebrate the generosity of our community, create meaningful opportunities for them to see the impact of their generosity, and offer special experiences that connect our entire community more deeply to our local hospital. Kate’s insight and commitment continue to strengthen the Foundation’s capacity to inspire giving and transform healthcare in our community.
Kate’s ability to connect the hearts and minds of donors has been instrumental in fully funding two community fundraising priorities to enhance healthcare at NBRHC; the Dementia-Friendly Neighbourhoods project, which is setting our Health Centre apart as a leader in dementia care, and the $4.3 million Nuclear Medicine Department upgrade, which included two state-of-the-art SPECT/CT machines. Building on this success, her compassion for mental health, paired with a unique ability to clearly articulate our community’s healthcare needs, has helped secure significant funding for numerous impactful projects in North Bay and Sudbury, supported by charitable foundations, Chat4Chad, leadership donors and corporate partners.

"Receiving this recognition from AHP is both a true honour and incredibly humbling,” says Kate. “I'm extremely grateful to be part of this network of inspiring peers from organizations across the globe. It is a privilege to have found a career in healthcare philanthropy and this deeply meaningful way of helping to ensure that healthcare is available, close to home, when we need it most."
In 2024, Kate earned her CFRE and has served on AHP’s Convene Canada conference committee for both 2024 and 2025. Earlier this year, Kate was appointed to the HANDS Board of Directors. Her volunteerism that extends beyond her work day clearly demonstrates her commitment to advancing healthcare and community philanthropy.
“We are delighted to share that Kate has received this esteemed recognition from AHP. It is a reflection of her exceptional professionalism, dedication, and leadership in the field of healthcare philanthropy. To be acknowledged among peers across our sector is a true testament to the impact of her work. Her commitment to continuous learning and her ability to mentor and inspire others have made her an invaluable member of our team. We congratulate her on this well-earned achievement,” said Tammy Morison President & CEO, NBRHC Foundation.
