Kev’s Kids Radio Marathon returns April 9
By Brad Aubin
We’re only a couple of weeks away from Kev’s Kids Radio Marathon in support of Redpath Rotary4Kids.
Country 90.5 CFCH morning host Kevin Oschefski will be on the air on April 9, raising funds for children with special needs in our community.
Unlike years past, the radiothon won’t stretch over 29 hours, instead Oschefski will be on-air all day, and returning to the wrap party at the Y-M-C-A the next morning.

He says he’s realized over the last couple years he physically can’t do 29 hours straight anymore and people around him were saying something needs to change.
“We’re still going to raise a whole bunch of money,” says Oschefski. “If anything I’m actually looking forward to the sign-off breakfast and being ‘with it’ and aware so I can actually enjoy it this year instead of just battling my way through it.”
In the lead up to the event, Oschefski says it all starts to feel real when he does interviews with the families.
“We’ll be playing portions of those conversations so people know where their money is going,” he says. “When I start doing those and I see the difference that the money makes to those families and hear about the challenges that they face, that’s when it gets real. I had a dad who broke down a couple weeks ago and said I just want my kid to have friends.”
Since 2003, Rotary4Kids has raised over $1.7 million to assist area children.
