Kingsnorth, Robert (Bob)

Passed away peacefully at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice on Friday February 27th 2026 at the age of 88, two months after a sudden diagnosis of a brain tumor.

 Loving husband of the late Grace Kingsnorth. Cherished father of Shauna Kingsnorth-Chan (Phil) and Tanya Forth (Mike). He was the proud grandfather of Madelin and Sydney Chan and Aiden and Roslyn Forth. Predeceased by his brothers Ronald and Clifford.

 Bob will be remembered as a man of deep character, steady strength and generous spirit. A former Sergeant in the Canadian Armed Forces, with postings that included Nova Scotia, Germany and Ontario, he carried himself with quiet pride and a lifelong commitment to service. His love of planes grew from his military days and his Varga was his pride and joy. He enjoyed building community with fellow hobby pilots and veterans at the North Bay Flying Club and in Cape Coral Florida, where friendships were forged in hangars, breakfast fly-ins and over shared stories.

 A longtime member of the Widdifield Lions Club for 45 years, he gave generously of his time and energy, serving in many roles and as an A5 District Governor 2006-2007. Never one to sit still, Bob had a strong entrepreneurial spirit and was always chasing the next opportunity. He was happiest with a project underway and tools in his hands.

 A gifted storyteller and a genuinely kind man, Bob brought people together with warmth, humor and heart. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by family and friends. 

 As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

 In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Robert can be made to the Lions Club International Foundation.
