LECHLITNER, Paul Morton

LECHLITNER, Paul Morton

Peacefully passed away at his home on Sunday October 18, 2026, at the age of 96 years.

Paul was the beloved husband of Edwina (nee Mousseau) Lechlitner, and the loving father to John (Dawn), Barbie Greyson-Mayor, Debbie Bonderoff (Walter), and the late Paula Palangio (Robert). He was the cherished grandfather to Kara, Meghan, Andrew (Diane), Jill (Alain), Adam (Sophie), CC (Hannah), Madison (Kei), Mackenzie, Katie (Kyle) Evan (Mar), Connor (Lara), Bradley (Monica), Nicholas and Great-grandfather to Llewyn, Brody, Jase, Wade, Eleanor and Kash. Predeceased by his siblings Lincoln (Jean) Lechlitner, Juanita (nee Lechlitner) Hanselman (Stan), Lowell Boak, and Frank Lechlitner. Paul is also predeceased by his parents James Lechlitner and Elizabeth Lechlitner.

Born and raised in the Powassan area Paul was involved with hockey with the local Powassan Hawks for years, both player and organizer. He married his first love Edwina Mousseau in 1954 who he affectionately called the most beautiful woman and he was the luckiest man to be married to her, they raised a family while firmly establishing himself in the local business community. He became a lifelong entrepreneur from a young age, he had many businesses involved in manufacturing, property development, home building, commercial and industrial property as well as the lumber industries. He established the Eastview Group of Companies that continues his legacy.

Paul was always willing to pursue new opportunities and was never afraid to take a risk. He was determined and, at times, would persevere when it came to pursuing something he believed in or was passionate about. These qualities helped shape both his business success and the legacy he leaves behind.

While business kept him busy he was also a devoted parent who made time for his children’s activities. Whether helping raise funds, driving his children and their friends across the province on weekends, or lending a hand wherever needed, he was always willing to contribute and support the things that mattered to his family.
Paul with Edwina enjoyed travelling including a memorable trip to Russia in 1972 for the Canada-Russia hockey Summit Series. In later years they travelled around North America until they purchased a winter home in Phoenix where they made many new friends and had numerous adventures together.

He had the privilege of watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow, build lives of their own, and prosper. His life was marked by hard work, determination, a willingness to take chances, and, above all, a lasting love for his family and Edwina.

The family will be receiving visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Thursday October 22, 2026, between the hours of 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. A private graveside service will be held on Friday October 23, 2026, at 11 am.
