Loaded Glock and $71,000 in Drugs Seized by North Bay Police Service
The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) Street Crime Unit (SCU), Emergency Response Unit (ERT) and Uniform Patrol arrested three individuals following a high-risk traffic stop. Officers seized a loaded Glock 43 9mm handgun and an estimated $71,000 worth of illicit drugs.
On the night of November 26, the SCU intercepted illicit drugs being brought into the city. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted in the area of Wallace Road and Commerce Crescent with support from Uniform Patrol and ERT. Three individuals were arrested without incident.
The accused, Madison Alcorn, 31-year-old, female, of North Bay, has been charged with:
- Three Counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl, Crystal Methamphetamine, Crack Cocaine)
- Proceeds Of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm
- Careless Storage of Firearm
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Crack cocaine
- Two counts of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Fail to Comply with Recognizance Order
The co-accused, Benjamin Adams, 34-year-old, male, of North Bay, has been charged with:
- Three Counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl, Crystal Methamphetamine, Crack Cocaine)
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Careless Storage of Firearm
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Crack cocaine
- Two counts of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Failure to Comply with Release Order
The second co-accused, Norman Wink, 63-year-old, male, of Trout Creek, has been charged with:
- Three Counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl, Crystal Methamphetamine, Crack Cocaine)
- Proceeds Of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm
- Careless Storage of Firearm
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Crack cocaine
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
Subsequent searches led to the seizure of the following items:
- Loaded Glock 43 9mm Handgun
- $370 in Canadian currency
- Controlled substances with an estimated street value of $71,000, including:
- 409 grams cocaine
- 132 grams of fentanyl
- 34 grams of crystal methamphetamine
- 3 grams of crack cocaine
- White mini-van
“Excellent work by all NBPS members involved. This high-risk traffic stop was carefully conducted to prioritize the safety of the officers involved and our community,” said Insp. McFarlane. “Once again, multiple units worked together to intercept another significant amount of drugs, preventing them from reaching our city streets.”
The three accused were arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing. All three have been remanded with future court dates.
