Local Principal Named 2025 CPCO Principal of the Year

NPSC Principal Named 2025 CPCO Principal of the Year Award Recipient
The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board (NPSC) is pleased to announce that Dan Seguin, Principal at Holy Cross Catholic Elementary School, has been selected by the Catholic Principals’ Council of Ontario (CPCO) as a 2025 Principal of the Year Award recipient.
Instituted by the CPCO in 2000, this award is presented each year to principals and vice-principals who are members or associate members of the CPCO for their outstanding school and community leadership. Dan will receive this award at the 2025 CPCO Conference and Gala in Niagara-on-the-Lake on April 25.
Dan has had an exemplary career with our NPSC family for 32 years and has served Catholic education through a variety of roles, including that of teacher, and, currently, principal at Holy Cross Catholic School.
“Dan truly exemplifies what it means to be a Catholic educator and leader. Anyone who has the gift of knowing Dan can attest to the fact that he exudes positivity and optimism. On a daily basis, he brings to life our Board’s vision statement: Rooted in Faith, Alive in Spirit. Moreover, Dan is passionate about the staff, students, and families he serves, and always does what it takes to support and celebrate them, exemplifying true servant leadership. On behalf our NPSC family, we extend our warmest congratulations and deep gratitude to Dan for his leadership and outstanding contributions in serving our Catholic school communities.” said Paula Mann, Director of Education at NPSC.
Dan additionally serves as a mentor and leader among our principals as the local representative for the Catholic Principals’ Council of Ontario – a position he has held for many years. Dan constantly seeks to provide students with opportunities to excel outside of the classroom, leading many different initiatives such as elementary athletics, cross-country running, basketball, and track and field – to name just a few. A leader with great humility, Dan’s dedication to Catholic education and unwavering commitment to the success of our students and NPSC make him a well-deserving recipient of the CPCO Principal of the Year Award.
Reflecting on the recognition, Dan expressed, “I am humbly grateful and honoured to have been bestowed this award by the CPCO, a tremendous organization of which I am proud to be a member. I extend my sincere appreciation, as well, to my principal and vice-principal counterparts who nominated me for this honour. I have always believed that education is about drawing the best out of our students, and out of ourselves, and I am deeply thankful for the educators, principals, vice-principals, and senior team at the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board for collaborating with me towards this goal.”
The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board expresses its sincere admiration and appreciation to Dan Seguin for his leadership and commitment to his school, NPSC, and Catholic education in Ontario!
