Locally filmed productions centre stage at North Bay Film Festival

The North Bay Film Festival is marking a decade of shining the spotlight on cinematic storytelling and community creativity.
A dozen films will be featured over the three-day event this weekend (Nov. 14-16) at the Capitol Centre.
Officials say a program celebrating films made in the North Bay area takes place on opening day. It’s called Framed by the North: A Century of Stories.
Five films are part of the curated program celebrating the region’s connection to cinema, from the 1940s to today.

The weekend also includes question and answer sessions with directors, producers, actors and others, a special exhibit featuring screen-used items and replicas, a juried short film showcase, and gala reception.
A film industry event is also taking place Thursday, Nov. 13 at West Ferris Secondary School.
“Students will take part in hands-on learning, special talk and screening, and conversations with Northern Ontario film professionals,” states a release.
