MADILL, Glen

MADILL, Glen

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Glen Madill, a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, friend, and respected teacher. He passed away at his home on Friday, October 3rd, 2025. Allan Glen Madill was 89 and was the beloved husband of Patricia for 65 years.  Loving father of Neil Madill and his wife Dana, and Scott Madill and his wife Jill Norman. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Nicole and Shane. Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Agnes Madill, and by his siblings Roy, Betty, Robert, Gordon and Bryon.

Glen dedicated his career to education, spending many years in the classroom and retiring after 25 years at Chippewa Secondary School, where he taught drafting, driver's ed, co-op and special education. He touched the lives of countless students and colleagues with his patience, kindness, and genuine care.

Faith and community were central to Glen’s life. As an active member of Omond Memorial United Church, he served faithfully as an usher and on various committees. He was also a tireless volunteer with many local organizations, most recently giving his time and energy to the North Bay Heritage Railway and Carousel.

At home, Glen enjoyed tending to his garden, finding peace and joy in watching things grow. His gentle presence, steady support, and easy sense of humour will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He leaves behind a loving family, many friends, and generations of former students who carry forward the lessons he shared both inside and outside the classroom.

The family would like to thank Dr. Brian and Dr. Kathryn Shaw for many years of excellent care; the caring staff at Robinson's Pharmacy; the Victoria Order of Nurses, ParaMed, and CarePartners for their compassionate care.

To our friends and neighbours, a sincere thank you for your support during this difficult time and throughout the years.

A Celebration of Glen’s life will be held at the Omond Memorial United Church, on Saturday, October 18th, with visiting from 9:30 am until time for a Service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by his family.

Arrangements entrusted to the Martyn Funeral Home, and online condolences can be offered at www.martynfh.com
