It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of JoAnne Maeck at Health Sciences North on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025, at the age of 64. JoAnne was the loving daughter of Barbara (née Bryce) and Alvin (predeceased) Maeck. She is survived by her brother Brian (Terry) of North Bay. JoAnne is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends, both near and far.

JoAnne made her home in Newfoundland throughout her career as a Dietitian. She was involved with many community groups. JoAnne held a special place in her heart for her love of art and her furry friends.

At the end of her career, JoAnne returned to North Bay to be close to her family and lifelong friends. She remained true to herself as a volunteer and enjoyed an active role in her church community.

Visitation will be held at the Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 8th, from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 9th at 11:00 am.
