Man arrested after months-long search

Ontario Provincial Police report a search that began last December for a person wanted in connection with several criminal offences is in police custody.  

North Bay OPP say the 52-year-old Mattawa man was arrested Friday in Papineau-Cameron Township.  

Several OPP units were involved, including the Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, Crisis Negotiators, drones, and others.  

The man is facing 20 charges, including pointing a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm, assault, drug possession for the purposing of trafficking and more.   

The accused was held in custody for a weekend court appearance.  

Provincial Police are thanking the public for their cooperation and for the information provided during the investigation.
