Man Breaks into Apartment while on Release Order

The accused was arrested and charged after breaking into a residence, stealing a vehicle and driving it recklessly down the bike path in the downtown area of the city
A 36-year-old ST Thomas man is in custody after he broke into a residence on Monday afternoon.
The accused and the victim are not known to each other.
The accused in this incident is Brandon BURCH, 36-years, of ST Thomas, who is charged with:
- Break, Enter and Commit Theft
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
On June 1st, 2025, the accused was arrested and charged after breaking into a residence, stealing a vehicle and driving it recklessly down the bike path in the downtown area of the city. The accused was held for Bail at that time. He was released on a Release Order with conditions on August 12th, 2025. On the 18th of August at around 4pm, North Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to an apartment complex on McLeod Street in relation to reports that an unknown male had entered the complex through a window.
Upon arrival, police located the accused in an apartment drinking a beverage from the victim’s fridge. During the investigation, it was determined that the accused had entered the building through an unlocked window, obtained a key from another area of the apartment complex, and had entered the victim’s residence illegally. The accused was arrested and transported to North Bay Police Service headquarters, where he was charged and is, once again, being held for Bail.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
