Man Charged Following Disturbance at Lakeshore Restaurant
The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) has charged a North Bay man following a reported disturbance at a restaurant on Lakeshore Drive that allegedly escalated into an assault and an altercation with a police officer.
The accused, David WESLEY, 36-year-old, male, of North Bay, has been charged with:
- Assault
- Causing a Disturbance
- Assault a Peace Officer
At approximately 1 p.m. on September 19, 2026, NBPS responded to a reported disturbance at a restaurant in the 300 block of Lakeshore Drive. The accused allegedly entered the restaurant and approached multiple individuals while shouting, disrupting product displays and instigating a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical assault of one individual.
Upon arrival, the accused was located by the Patrol Section in the parking lot. At which time, it is reported that the accused assaulted a police officer before being arrested without further incident.
“Everyone in our community has the right to feel safe when going about their daily lives. We will not tolerate behaviour that puts others at risk or disrupts the safety of our shared spaces,” said A/Deputy Jeff Warner. “Our officers put themselves at risk every day when they respond to calls for service, never knowing what they may face. Those who use violence against our officers while they are serving and protecting our community will be charged accordingly.”
The accused was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
