Residential Break and Enter with Firearm
The North Bay Police Service has arrested and charged an 18-year-old male in relation to a break and enter that occurred on July 13, 2024.
On July 13, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m. the victim, while outside her residence, observed the accused inside the residence. The victim and a witness entered the residence and a physical altercation between them and the accused occurred. During the altercation, the victim and witness seized a handgun that the accused had in a bag on his person. The accused then fled the location.
Police located the accused while he was fleeing from the residence and arrested the accused a short distance from the scene.
The accused in this incident is Makai VAILLANCOURT, male, age 18, of North Bay, who is charged with:
- One count of Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
- One count of Carless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
- One count of Carrying concealed weapon
- One count of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Three counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance
- One count of Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
- One count of Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- One count of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- One count of Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
Searches by police resulted in the seizure of:
- A revolver-style handgun loaded with blank ammunition
- Approximately one (1) gram of suspected cocaine
- Approximately three suspected oxycodone pills
- Approximately five suspected hydromorphone pills
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
