Man Charged Carrying Crossbow and Switchblade on Lakeshore Drive
The North Bay Police Service has arrested and charged a 26-year-old male for multiple weapons offences.
On August 31, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., members of the North Bay Police Service responded to reports of an individual holding a crossbow outside of local businesses in the 300-block of Lakeshore Drive, North Bay. Upon arrival, police located and arrested the accused.
The accused in this incident is Curtis SCRIVER, male, age 26, of North Bay, who is charged with:
- One count of Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Two counts of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- Three counts of Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
- One count of Failure to comply with undertaking
- One count of Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Three counts of Failure to comply with prohibition order
Searches by police resulted in the seizure of:
- A compound crossbow and accompanying ammunition
- A switchblade knife (prohibited weapon)
- Brass knuckles (prohibited weapon)
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
