MASON, DIANE
It is with profound sadness that the family of Diane Anne Marie Mason (born Miron) announces her passing on Dec, 31st 2025 just 2 days after celebrating her 72nd birthday. She passed away at the North Bay Regional Health Centre surrounded by her loving family.
Diane was born to Lucille Léola Miron (Joannisse) and Léo Camille Miron on Dec, 29th, 1953 in New Liskeard Ontario. She was raised in Baie Simard, Quebec and then New Liskeard with her 9 brothers and 3 sisters. Diane was the eldest daughter and assumed a motherly role providing love, guidance and nurturing to all her siblings. One of her favourite things to do growing up was baking with her mother every Saturday.
For a good part of her life, Diane worked as a secretary and office manager for many different branches of the government in Ottawa and Calgary. Her professionalism and strong work ethic enabled her to receive the highest security clearance and she worked closely with many government ministers.
Diane is predeceased by her parents Lucille Léola Miron (1930-2003) and Léo Camille Miron (1926-2013). She is also predeceased by her brother Gaston Joseph Miron (1962-2016) She is survived by her husband Stephen John Mason, her daughter Shanda Diane Mason, and her 4 grandchildren, Isaiah Mason, Arianna Mason, Bentley Mason and Isabella Mason who she absolutely adored. She is also survived by her 11 siblings. Bernard (Suzanne) Charles Miron, Jocelyn Tull (Miron) Richard (Rosa), Guy (Noella), Marcel (Nicole), Marie Winter, Chantal Dugas, Leo (Sandy), Denis (Catherine), and Sylvain Miron.
Diane was a kind, caring, compassionate, and giving person who always put the needs of others before her own. Her gentle spirit was a source of comfort and peace to all. She especially loved her role as Nana. Her daughter and her grandchildren meant the world to her and she was immensely proud of them. Diane had a bright beautiful smile that could light up a room and her laugh was unforgettable.
Words cannot express how deeply she will be missed. Though she is no longer with us, her loving spirit will forever be a guiding light.
