Maurice 'Moose' Michaud

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maurice “Moose” Michaud, a cherished partner, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Born on July 30, 1958, in Mattawa, Ontario, Maurice lived a life full of love, hard work, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.

A skilled machine operator, Maurice took great pride and joy in his work, and those he met along the way. 

But most importantly, he was known for his warm heart, larger-than-life personality, and the deep love he had for those closest to him.

Maurice was a passionate supporter of the Mattawa Rockets, and in his later years, became a familiar presence in the local hockey community. His enthusiasm for the team was infectious, and he took immense pride in watching his grandson play. His commitment to the team made him a recognizable and a beloved figure in Mattawa, and his absence will be deeply felt, at the rink.

Maurice is lovingly remembered by his partner, Bonnie Edmonds (Mattawa, ON), and his children: Kerri (Jake), Tiffany (Tony), Amanda (Bryan), as well as his stepchildren, Jodie and Jerrid. He was a proud grandfather to Noah, Zachary, Vincent, Dylan, Chloe, Taylor, Bryson, Henley, Nixon, and a doting great-grandfather to Ava.

He leaves behind his siblings: Therese (Fern), Yolande(Reggie), Guy(Joceline), Laure(Andy) and Yves(Glenda). 

He is joining in rest his late brothers, Rejean (Reggie) Michaud and Luc Michaud and parents Cliff and Lucille.

Moose’s presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of Maurice’s life will be held at later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Hospice at the Mattawa General Hospital.

Maurice “Moose” Michaud will always be remembered for his strength, kindness, and unwavering love for his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
