Measles Cases Jump to 11

The number of confirmed cases of measles in our district has more than doubled since Wednesday.
The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit’s website says there are 11 cases as of Friday, March 21.
A couple days ago officials reported 5 cases.
They reiterate there is no evidence of the virus spreading throughout the region, and no locations have been identified where the public could have been exposed.
The Health Unit say the risk to the public remains low, and they’re working with infected individuals and their close contacts to prevent the risk of further local spread.
They’re recommending you check your vaccination status and contact them or your healthcare provider if you need to get caught up on your MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine.
