Milestone reached in Lakers men’s volleyball program

By Richard Coffin

For the first time in program history, the Nipissing Lakers men’s volleyball team has won an OUA playoff game.

The Lakers swept the number six nationally ranked University of Toronto Varsity Blues 3-0 on Friday night.

In a social media post, the Lakers say they had big performances from senior Marc Marchand and captain Jack Svendsen.

Nipissing is also thanking their fans who came out to the game in Toronto, saying it felt like a home match.

The Lakers advance to the semifinals this Friday.

They’ll travel to Kingston to play Queen’s.
