Multiple charges after commercial truck runs red light and crashes into several vehicles
By Brad Aubin
A 29-year-old from Alberta and a commercial vehicle company based out of Brampton are facing charges after a multi-vehicle crash Thursday night.
North Bay OPP says emergency services responded to reports of a crash at the Highway 11 and Airport Road intersection shortly after 6 pm
One person was transported to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

Police say the initial investigation determined that the southbound commercial vehicle failed to stop at the intersection’s red light, and collided with a passenger vehicle, continuing southbound and hitting more.
The OPP says the Ministry of Transportation attended the scene and did a comprehensive inspection of the vehicle, with multiple critical defects being identified, and the tractor portion placed out of service with its licence plates removed.
The commercial vehicle driver has been charged with operation of an unsafe vehicle, careless driving, and more.
The company, meanwhile, was charged with permitting the operation of an unsafe vehicle, failing to ensure daily inspection is conducted properly and more.
Police are thanking members of the public who assisted at the scene and those who have come forward with information.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the North Bay OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
