NB Sports Hall of Fame looking for award nominations

If you know of a local athlete or team that deserves recognition, the North Bay Sports Hall of Fame wants to hear from you.   

Officials are looking to honour sports achievements in 2024.    

Recipients will be selected by the NBSHF Sports Awards Committee with input from community and school sports organizations.   

Nominations can be emailed to nbsportsawards@gmail.com, including the name and a brief description of the individual/team accomplishment.    

The deadline is Friday, Jan. 24.  

Awards include:   

• Jack Burrows Memorial Award for Sports Achievement of the Year   
• James Kelly Memorial Award for Team of the Year   
• Al Brennan Memorial Trophy for Coach of the Year   
• Jim Aspin Memorial Award for Executive of the Year   
• Pete Palangio Award for Long-time Contribution to Sport   
• Peter Handley Friend of Sport Award   
• Mort Fellman Memorial Award for Female Athlete of the Year   
• Britt Jessup Memorial Award for Male Athlete of the Year   
• Judge Harry J Reynolds Memorial Trophy for Hockey   
• George Martyn Memorial Award for Basketball   
• Mike Mitchell-Larry Avery Memorial Award for Football   
• North Bay Youth Soccer Dedication to Soccer Award   
• Thomson Family Award for Contributions to Fastball, Softball, and Baseball  

The 44th annual induction and awards dinner will be held in May.
