Neibourhood Watch at Landfill
The Municipality of West Nipissing is asking for the public’s help when it comes to a rise in incidents of trespassing, theft and vandalism at its landfill sites.
Officials are urging residents to report any after-hours suspicious activity to Ontario Provincial Police.
Citing an increase in incidents over the past two years, the municipality says it’s looking into measures to enhance security and is working with local police.
However, officials say community involvement can have a significant impact.
They also say with a number of landfill sites across the municipality, trespassing, theft and vandalism are adding unnecessary operational expenses.
That includes replacing damaged gates and repairing essential structures.
