New fund supporting women entrepreneurs
A Canadian ridesharing company is launching a fund to support women entrepreneurs and aspiring founders in the communities it serves, including North Bay.
It’s called the Uride Female Founders Fund.
Officials say in recognition of International Women’s Day, they’re awarding $5,000 each to three women who are either growing an existing business or transforming an idea into a venture that addresses a real local need.

“We started Uride with $3,000, so we understand how meaningful early support can be for entrepreneurs,” says Cody Ruberto, CEO and founder of Uride. “Through the Uride Female Founders Fund, we’re proud to invest $15,000 to support women entrepreneurs, along with mentorship opportunities, so they can build solutions that make a real difference in their communities.”
Finalists’ pitch videos will also be shared with nearly one million Uride passengers in small towns across Canada, allowing communities to vote and support the ideas they believe can make the greatest local impact.
Women located in cities where Uride operates, including North Bay, are invited to apply through the Uride Female Founders Fund application form. A link is in the social media post below.
Winners will be announced on March 12, 19, and 26.
