Newman Holwerda

On June 28, 2026, Newman Holwerda, born January 8, 1933, in Hamilton to Andrew & Anne Holwerda, last surviving sibling to 9 brothers and sisters, peacefully closed his eyes on the final chapter on his book of life.

Newman was married to Margaret Sarah Bell (aka Sally) on February12, 1954. Father to Cindy (Garry) and Barry (Sandy). Grandfather to 4 beautiful boys: Matthew, Kristan, Jacob and Joshua. Great grandfather to Carly, Jack, Harrison and Theodore.

Newman lived most of his life in Hamilton as an electrician for Wallace Barnes. This last year, dad turned 93, sold his home and moved to North Bay to live with his daughter where he flourished and became an important part of the community that knew and loved him well.

Dad quietly came into this world and quietly left us in his sleep, with so many fond and loving memories. Dad will be forever in our hearts, always with us as he re-unites with the love of his life. As per Newman's wishes, cremation has taken place . There will not be a service. If desired, donations to Parkinson Canada would be gratefully acknowledged by his family.
