Nighbor to be inducted into North Bay and Area Sports Hall of Fame

From what started out as a family activity, David Nighbor’s cross country skiing career grew to a level few local skiers have attained. Commencing with his high school career, his status as an elite skier grew as he progressed through the ranks from Chippewa High School to the Ontario Junior Development Team followed by selection to the Ontario Elite Winter Racing Team.

His accomplishments at those levels saw him advance to the Canadian Junior National team from 2001-2004 and ultimately from 2004-2009 as a member of the Canadian National Ski team.
