Nipissing paramedic honoured for 30 years of service

49 paramedics in Ontario are being honoured for their decades of service, providing the highest standard of care and conduct.

They include Nipissing’s Daniel Raymond, a ‘First Bar’ recipient of the Governor General Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal.

It marks 30 years of service.

The medal was created in 1994, as part of the Canadian Honours System by the late Governor General of Canada, Romeo LeBlanc.

To qualify, at least ten years of service must have been in the field, on duty, involving potential risk.

A second bar marks 40 years, with a third bar recognizing 50 years.

The paramedics were honoured during a ceremony Wednesday in Toronto.
