Nipissing University celebrates outstanding student leaders
Yesterday, Nipissing University honoured 25 outstanding students at the annual Dave Marshall Leadership Awards ceremony, held at the NUSU Student Centre. The awards celebrate students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, academic excellence, and service to both the University and the broader community.
Established in recognition of Dr. Dave Marshall’s 18 years of dedicated service as Nipissing’s Dean of Education and President and Vice-Chancellor, the awards highlight students who embody Nipissing’s core values of engagement, integrity, and excellence. Recipients are recognized across three categories: Academic, Campus, and Community Leadership, reflecting achievements in scholarly work, student life, and community impact.

“Nipissing students consistently demonstrate how leadership strengthens both our academic community and the wider region,” said Dr. Kevin Wamsley, President and Vice-Chancellor. “It is always a proud moment when we formally acknowledge their dedication and their meaningful contributions to their fields and communities.”
These prestigious, non-monetary awards honour Dr. Marshall’s enduring commitment to higher education, his vision for Nipissing’s future, and his leadership within the community.
