Nipissing University welcomes visitors to Fall Open House

Nipissing University welcomed more than 500 guests, including 240 prospective students, to campus on Saturday, October 25, for its annual Fall Open House. The event offered visitors an immersive experience of what life is like at Nipissing, from exploring labs and classrooms to connecting with professors, staff, and current students.

Guests began their day at the R.J. Surtees Student Athletics Centre before setting out on guided tours across campus, visiting facilities such as the Governors House residence complex, state-of-the-art academic and health labs, and Monastery Hall, home to Nipissing’s fine arts programs.

Program Information Sessions allowed prospective students to meet professors and ask questions about their fields of interest, while the Student Support Fair brought together representatives from key departments, student clubs, and student services, including Indigenous Initiatives, Financial Aid, Athletics, and Residence Life.

“This event really captures the energy and community spirit that makes Nipissing University a special place,” said Dr. Kevin Wamsley, President and Vice-Chancellor. “It’s wonderful to see so many future Lakers exploring our campus, meeting our faculty, and envisioning their place here.”

Sarah Marinelli, Associate Registrar, Recruitment, added: “We’re thrilled by the turnout and enthusiasm we saw from students and families. Our goal was to create an experience where guests could truly see themselves at Nipissing, and the feedback we received shows we achieved that.”

Nipissing’s next large-scale opportunity for prospective students to connect with the university will be at its upcoming Spring Open House on March 14, 2026.

In the meantime, campus tours are offered Monday through Friday (except holidays) throughout the year, and virtual tours are also available for those unable to visit the campus in person.
