North Bay Celebrates 100 Years of City Status

North Bay Celebrates 100 Years of City Status

North Bay is inviting the community to join in celebrating the anniversary of its city status with a special event at City Hall on April 14. This event marks the day North Bay was officially granted city status by the Ontario legislature and is part of a year-long centennial celebration.

The event will feature a formal proclamation at 11 a.m., followed by a short video presentation showcasing the city’s journey over the past century. Attendees can explore display booths highlighting North Bay’s history and future, enjoy centennial cookies, take part in photo and selfie opportunities, and sign a giant birthday card to mark the occasion. The celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and everyone is welcome to attend.

This event is just one of many planned throughout the year as North Bay celebrates its 100th anniversary. A variety of community events will take place over the summer months, leading up to a large celebration in August – coinciding with the 1925 celebration, when North Bay was officially presented with its city charter and hosted its first Old Home Week.
