North Bay Figure Skating Club welcomes Elizabeth Manley

A Canadian Olympic, Skate Canada and Canadian Sports Hall of Famer is in North Bay this weekend.

On Friday and Saturday, Elizabeth Manley is taking part in a seminar and on-ice sessions with about 15-20 North Bay Figure Skating Club members at Memorial Gardens.

Manley is a three-time national champion and won silver at the 1988 Calgary Olympics and World Championships in Budapest.

She’s also a mental health advocate, life coach and a member of the Order of Canada.

Local figure skating officials say their skaters are really looking forward to the sessions.

Overall, the club has nearly 170 skaters this year.
