North Bay Home Sales Down
Local sales down 6.5% year-over-year, while national sales were up 1.9%
The local real estate market saw declines in home sales, new listings and dollar value in September, while the average price was on the rise.
The North Bay and Area Realtors Association says the 100 units sold through the MLS® System in September, was down 6.5% year-over-year.
Nationally, sales were up 1.9%,
Also on decline locally was the dollar value of home sales, which came in at $44.5 million in September.
That’s a drop of just over 5% from the same month last year.
New listings were down about 11% in September while active listings rose to 271.
In fact, officials say active listings haven’t been this high in September in five years.
Also up is the average price of a home.
It increased 1.4% in September with the year-to-date average price up nearly 7 % to $463,832.
