North Bay Man Arrested and $34,000 in Heroin and Crystal Meth Seized
The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) Street Crime Unit (SCU) has charged a male following a drug investigation in North Bay, and officers seized approximately $34,000 worth of drugs, including heroin and crystal methamphetamine.
On December 10, 2025, NBPS was notified of an arrest warrant for a North Bay man who had violated ongoing parole conditions. The accused was located and arrested without incident in the Highland Road area. Following the arrest, a search warrant was executed on his residence, which resulted in the seizure of approximately $34,000 worth of controlled substances. On December 12, the accused was charged with additional offences.
The accused, Ernest Gilson, 56-year-old, male, of North Bay, Ontario, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Crystal Methamphetamine)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Heroin)
Subsequent search led to the seizure of the following items:
- Controlled substances with an estimated street value of $34,000, including:
- 206 grams Crystal Methamphetamine
- 5 grams Heroin
"Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Street Crime Unit, community, and our policing partners, these drugs are off our streets," says Insp. McFarlane. "I want to thank everyone involved for their hard work and dedication, and in safely bringing the accused to justice."
The accused was arrested and held in custody.
