North Bay Man Arrested by NBPS After Firearm Threat
The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) has arrested a local man following an altercation in which a firearm was pointed at another individual.
The accused, Gregory MacLellan, 57-year-old, male, of North Bay, has been charged with:
- Pointing a Firearm
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
On January 20, an altercation occurred between the victim and the accused, who are known to each other. The accused invited the victim to his residence in the 600 block of McIntyre Street. Upon arrival, a firearm was pointed at the victim, who then fled the property.
On January 22, the accused was arrested and a search warrant was executed at the residence, resulting in the seizure of four firearms in connection with the incident.
"Situations involving firearms are always unpredictable,” said Insp. McFarlane. “The coordinated efforts of our Patrol and Criminal Investigations Sections ensured the arrest was completed safely and without incident, protecting both the public and our members."
The accused was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
