North Bay Police Arrest Man for Assault, Causing a Disturbance

The North Bay Police Service arrested a 36-year-old man for assault, causing a disturbance and mischief charges.

At approximately 6:50 p.m. on December 16, 2024, the accused in this incident entered a retirement complex on Fraser Street, North Bay. The accused was acting aggressively and caused staff and residence to fear for their safety. As a result, the complex was placed on lock down. The accused damaged property at the complex and attempted to assault staff and residents. At approximately 7:00 p.m. police arrested the accused at the scene.

The accused in this incident is Dereck LETOURNEAU, male, age 36, of North Bay, who is charged with:

  • One count of Assault
  • One count of Causing a Disturbance
  • One count of Mischief Under $5,000
  • One count of Failure to comply with release order

The accused in this incident was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
