North Bay Police arrest Sudbury Man with Concealed Weapon- Drugs
The North Bay Police Service has arrested and charged a 37-year-old Sudbury male for weapons and drug offences seizing over $18,000-worth of illegal drugs.
The accused in this incident is Andre Richard POULIOT, male, age 37, of Sudbury, Ontario, who is charged with:
- One count of Carrying concealed weapon
- One count of Failure to comply with release order
- One count of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
- Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance
- One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
- One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- One count of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
On November 21, 2024, members of the North Bay Police arrested the accused on an outstanding warrant in the area of O’Brien Street and Cassells Street, North Bay. A search incident to arrest located illegal narcotics and a prohibited weapon, leading to additional charges.
Searches by police resulted in the seizure of:
- Approximately 32 grams of suspected fentanyl
- Approximately 11.5 grams of suspected cocaine
- Approximately seven (7) 15mg tablets of suspected morphine
- Approximately seventeen (17) 30mg tablets of suspected morphine
- A spring activated “switch blade” style knife (prohibited weapon)
- A quantity Canadian currency
The estimated street value of the drugs seized in this incident is approximately $18,200.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse
