North Bay Police Arrests Man for Break and Enter to Commit Arson

The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) has arrested a man in connection with a break and enter to commit arson at a residential property.

On the late morning of May 30, in the area of Martin Street and Lakeshore Drive, the accused allegedly forced entry into a residential property. When officers arrived on scene, a fire was reported inside the residence. North Bay Fire and Emergency Services responded, and successfully extinguished the fire. The accused was located on the property and arrested without incident.

The accused, Justin ROCHELEAU, 34-year-old male of North Bay, has been charged with:

  • Break and Enter to Commit an Indictable Offence of Arson
  • Enter Premises When Entry Prohibited
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

"This incident had the potential to escalate quickly," said Inspector McFarlane. "Thanks to the rapid response of our officers and North Bay Fire and Emergency Services, the fire was brought under control quickly and the accused was taken into custody without incident.”

The accused was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
