February 26 and 27

City police say don’t be alarmed if you see an enhanced police presence in some parts of North Bay.

The North Bay Police Service Emergency Response Team (ERT) is training on Feb. 26 and 27 at various locations throughout the city.

That includes E.W. Norman Public School on Lake Heights Road, the Martin Leo Troy Armoury on Chippewa Street and other areas.

They say officers may be wearing tactical gear while drones may also be deployed as part of the training.

Police don’t expect any street closures and say the public should be able to go about their daily activities without any disruption.

Officials say the North Bay Police Service’s Emergency Response Team utilizes specialized skills, tactics, and equipment to protect public safety and respond to unpredictable situations.

Members of the team receive regular training to effectively respond to all manner of high-risk incidents.
