North Bay Police Find Drugs and Car

Police Charge One in Stolen Vehicle Investigation

The North Bay Police Service has arrested and charged a 54-year-old male as part of a stolen vehicle investigation and seized nearly $3,000 in illegal drugs.

The accused in this incident is Brian Lyle PAUL, male, age 54, of North Bay, who is charged with:

  • Three counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • One count of Failure to comply with release order

On October 2, 2023, the North Bay Police Service received a report that a motor vehicle belonging to the victim in this incident had disappeared from the victim’s driveway overnight. The vehicle was later located in the 400-block of Main Street East, North Bay, with clear signs that it had been tampered with to start the vehicle without a key. Members of the North Bay Police Service Forensic Identification Unit located forensic evidence within the vehicle linking the accused to the theft.

The accused and victim are unknown to one another.

As part of the investigation, on November 20, 2024, members of the North Bay Police Service located the accused in the 0-100-block of Lakeshore Drive, North Bay, where he was arrested and charged. A search incident to arrest located illegal narcotics, leading to additional charges.

A search incident to arrest resulted in the seizure of:

  • Approximately 24 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine
  • Approximately 1.5 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • Approximately four suspected Percocet pills
  • Drug trafficking equipment
  • A quantity Canadian currency

The estimated street value of the drugs seized in this incident is approximately $2,900.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
