North Bay Police seize $142,000 in Drugs and $11,500 Cash
Officers from the North Bay Police Street Crime Unit arrested and charged two males and seized a large quantity of illegal drugs and cash on February 5th, 2024, in connection with an on-going investigation.
On February 5th, around 2:45 pm, members of the North Bay Police Street Crime Unit were conducting surveillance on a Metcalf Street residence in relation to an on-going drug investigation. At that time officers observed a male exit a residence carrying a large backpack. This male then met with a second male and a hand-to-hand drug transaction was observed. Officers swept in and arrested both males, and they were transported to North Bay Police Service headquarters.
A subsequent search of the back pack revealed a large quantity illegal drugs and Canadian currency.
The accused in this matter are:
Paul Michel Lacroix, Male, age 40, of Sturgeon Falls, who is charged with:
· One count of Trafficking of a Schedule I Substance
· Five counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
· One count of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
James Allen Clinkard, male, age 37, of North Bay, who is charged with:
· One count of Possession of a Schedule I Substance
· One count of Fail to Comply with Probation
In total, searches by police resulted in the seizure of:
Approximately 360 grams of suspected Fentanyl, Approximately 205 grams of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine, 33 suspected Clonazepam pills, 22 suspected Percocet pills, 81 suspected Hydromorph pills and $11,500 in Canadian currency
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $142,438.
Both accused were held in custody for a bail hearing
