North Bay Woman Arrested for Impaired Driving and Drugs Suspected for Trafficking
The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) arrested a woman for impaired driving after finding her unresponsive in her vehicle and subsequently locating illicit drugs believed to be intended for the purpose of trafficking.
On March 6, at approximately 7:30 a.m., NBPS responded to a report of an unresponsive driver in the parking lot of a business on Algonquin Avenue. Officers located the driver in the vehicle and observed suspected illicit drugs within reach of the driver, prompting further investigation. The driver was transported to hospital as a precaution.
The driver was also observed exhibiting signs of impairment. A Drug Recognition Expert conducted an assessment, and the driver was deemed to be impaired. During a lawful search, officers located a quantity of Schedule I substances.
The accused, Roseanne Perzul, 36-year-old, female, of, North Bay Ontario, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Crystal Methamphetamine)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Hydromorphone)
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Operation while Impaired – Drug or Alcohol
Subsequent search led to the seizure of the following items:
- Controlled substances including:
- 5 grams Fentanyl
- 2 grams Crystal Methamphetamine
- Qty 18, Hydromorphone pills
- $443 Canadian currency
The accused was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
