NPSC Donates Over $3,400 to The Gathering Place
On May 21, 2025, the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board (NPSC) donated $3,470.75 to The Gathering Place, following the success of its Charity Mixed Volleyball Tournament held in March.
Launched in early 2024, the biannual tournament brings together staff, students, and community members. It is co-organized by NPSC staff members Michelle Ricco, Health and Safety Manager, and Bojan Markovic, Facilities Manager.
“We are very proud of our Catholic education family for helping us support a local organization that is rooted in community service,” said Paula Mann, Director of Education. “This donation – and those that came before it – would not be possible without our selfless participants. We had 20 teams compete in the tournament this year, and I truly think that speaks to our heart as well as our ability to come together for a vital cause.”
To date, the tournament has raised $7,645.75 for The Gathering Place. The organization provides meals and support to individuals and families in the North Bay area and plays a key role in addressing food insecurity in the region.
NPSC extends its thanks to all participants, volunteers, The Gathering Place staff, and supporters who contributed to the success of this initiative.
