NPSCDSB Appoints David Dunkley

The Board of Trustees of the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of David Dunkley as Trustee for the municipality of North Bay.

 An alumnus of Canadore College, David Dunkley graduated with honours from the Interactive Multi-Media Program. With a total of 25 years of experience in the information technology industry, David is an accomplished business owner as Managing Partner with Macroblu and serves as a professor at Canadore College, teaching in the Computer Network Technician and Computer Programming Analyst Programs.

 

Mr. Dunkley also brings a wealth of community service experience to the role of Catholic School Board Trustee. As a dedicated member of our local Catholic community, he actively participates in various charitable and parish related activities and serves as a Regional Evangelization Co-Coordinator. Demonstrating a deep desire and commitment to nurturing and promoting Catholic education, David also brings to this role a strong background in service leadership as exemplified through his membership in the Knights of Columbus as Deputy Grand Knight and in various committees at the Pro-Cathedral Parish in North Bay.

 

Mr. Dunkley fills a vacancy left by Trustee Barbara McCool, who retired on November 30, 2023. His term is effective immediately for the remainder of the current term of the Board, ending on November 14, 2026.

At a Special meeting held on December 5, 2023, the Board agreed to fill the vacancy by appointment in accordance with section 221(1)(a) of the Education Act. Following an Expression of Interest application process, the Board confirmed Mr. Dunkley’s appointment at a Special meeting held on January 31, 2024.  

The Board of Trustees and Senior Administration extend a warm welcome and their prayerful best wishes to Mr. Dunkley as he transitions to this new role and looks forward to working with him for the remainder of the term.
