OHL Brantford Bulldogs sign Briir Long
Brantford Bulldogs General Manager Matt Turek announced today the signing of forward Briir Long to an OHL Scholarship & Development Agreement.
Long, a North Bay product, recently skated in the GOJHL Top Prospects showcase in Ayr representing the St. Thomas Stars where the offensively gifted forward has posted an incredible 24 goals & 14 assists for 38 points in just 30 games in his first-year of junior eligibility.
A 10th round selection, 189th overall, in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection Draft, Long brings an already travelled resume to the Bulldogs. Skating with the North Bay Trappers for his U15 AAA season, Long moved to the GTHL for his draft year with the Mississauga Senators U16 AAA. After an impressive 7 points in 4 games at the OHL Cup solidified his OHL draft standing, Long impressed at both development camp & training camp with the Bulldogs before breaking out in St. Thomas.
“Briir Long’s development continues to impress and we are excited to receive his commitment to the Brantford Bulldogs.” said Bulldogs General Manager Matt Turek. “To do what Briir has already done as a 16-year-old in a very, very good league (GOJHL) gives a glimpse at his tremendous potential. We are excited to add Briir’s skill set & character to our group moving forward.”
