One of seven new judges assigned to North Bay

The province has appointed seven new judges to the Ontario Court of Justice, including one in North Bay.
Officials say Justice Pierre Lambert-Bélanger was called to the Ontario bar in 2005 and started his legal career in Timmins.
He has worked as an assistant Crown attorney in North Bay since 2018.

“Justice Lambert-Bélanger has wide-ranging volunteer experience,” states a release. “Since 2022, he has been a member of the Access to Justice in French Northeast Regional Committee, creating solutions and strategies to improve access to justice in French. He is a certified coach with the North Bay Minor Hockey Association and has belonged to multiple school parent advisory councils, as well as Le Club Richelieu, an organization that engages youth in the community and promotes Francophone culture.”
Three of the other new judges have been assigned to Sudbury, with one each in Belleville, Brampton and Cornwall.
The appointments take effect Aug. 13.
