OPP and MNRF patrol area trails and lakes on the weekend
67 provincial offence notices and warnings were issued by North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and conservation officers with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) on the weekend.

From Friday through Sunday, they conducted a Motorized Snow Vehicle enforcement initiative across the North Bay region.
Infractions covered a variety of provincial acts, involving Motorized Snow Vehicles, Off-Road Vehicles, liquor, insurance and the Ontario Fisheries Act.
One roadside alcohol screening test resulted in a seven‑day licence suspension.
Police say officers patrolled 275 km of area lakes and trails, making 468 contacts with operators, conducting safety checks, and more.
Patrol areas included Lake Nipissing, Callander Bay, Manitou Islands, Goose Island, Trout Lake, Turtle Lake, Lake Nosbonsing, and shoreline regions surrounding North Bay.
With the season near its end, the OPP is reminding snowmobile and ice users that conditions can change rapidly due to warmer weather, fluctuating temperatures, and increased waterflow.
